Locum Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant

Position Overview

Immediate locum cardiothoracic PA / NP candidates are needed for a six‑month assignment in Pennsylvania.

Scope of Practice

The role is a full continuum‑of‑care cardiothoracic PA, primarily in the operating room with responsibility for consults, OR procedures, ICU and step‑down patient management, and clinic duties. The practice averages 600 heart cases per year.

Schedule

Minimum work schedule of four 10‑hour days or three 12‑hour days. On‑call duty every fifth weekend. Typical daytime shift 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, on‑call 6:00 PM–6:30 AM. Weekend shifts 6:00 AM–6:00 PM in‑house; weekend call Friday 6:00 PM through Monday 6:30 AM is from home.

Compensation & Benefits

Premium pay $120–$140 per hour, plus 1.5× overtime beyond 40 hours, premium on‑call pay, paid housing and travel, Virtual Credit Card, autonomy to choose housing, and top‑rated malpractice coverage with personal attention to all needs. New locations are added weekly.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Maquet endoscopic vein harvest.
• Proficient in surgical first‑assisting procedures in cardiac surgery.
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred.
