The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and commercialization of next-generation location solutions for high-volume commercial products. The position involves system-level ownership of location technologies, spanning algorithm development, performance analysis, optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to bring robust and scalable location capabilities into production.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, simulate, and develop location system algorithms and architectures spanning multiple positioning technologiesPerform system-level modeling, performance prediction, and tradeoff analysis across accuracy, robustness, latency, power, and scalabilityDevelop and optimize algorithms for multi-sensor and multi-technology fusion, combining information from GNSS, inertial sensors, terrestrial signals, and vision-based inputsAnalyze and mitigate location error sources, including signal propagation effects, multipath, interference, sensor noise, and receiver implementation limitationsCollaborate closely with algorithm, software, hardware, and product teams to drive implementation, integration, and commercialization of location technologiesSupport bring-up, validation, and performance analysis using real-world data across diverse environments (indoor, outdoor, urban, and challenging conditions)Required SkillsStrong background in location systems, navigation, or related fieldsSolid understanding of estimation theory and probabilistic state estimation, including Kalman filtering or related techniquesProficiency in Python for algorithm development, modeling, data analysis, and performance evaluationAbility to work across disciplines and communicate complex technical concepts effectivelyPreferred QualificationsExperience with multi-constellation multi-frequencies GNSS positioningExperience with terrestrial positioning technologies, such as cellular-based positioning, Wi-Fi positioning, or other radio-based ranging and fingerprinting approachesFamiliarity with vision- or camera-based positioning, including visual odometry, visual-inertial navigation, or feature-based localization conceptsExperience with multi-sensor fusion and system-level algorithm developmentExperience applying machine learning techniques, such as learning-based modeling, classification, regression, or data-driven performance enhancementBackground in signal processing, sensor modeling, and large-scale data analysisExperience taking algorithms from research or prototyping into product-quality implementationsMinimum Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.Pay Range and Other Compensation & Benefits:$129,200.00 - $193,800.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
