Localization Program ManagerLanguages are key to our mission of bringing the world closer together. The Meta family of products is currently available in 100 languages and we are adding many more. Over 70% of people use our products in a language other than English, and ~90% are outside of North America.

As a Localization Program Manager, you will partner with product and the rest of internationalization teams to empower Meta products to feel local at a global scale.Responsibilities:Engage and build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Marketing, etc.) to launch successful localized productsDesign and implement efficient and scalable end-to-end localization frameworks tailored to various products and diverse content types across MetaGuide stakeholders across Meta to ensure localization best practices are followed and drive efficient executionProactively identify and streamline technical and process issues that affect localized product relevancy, quality, and functionalityActively seek out opportunities to optimize the international user experience and influence adoptions of optimal solutionsPartner across internationalization to ensure the right resources are in place and all deliveries are completed at the expected standardsMinimum Qualifications:3 years of experience in localization program or project managementBA/BS or equivalent work experience in localization/internationalization project or program managementExperience communicating across and driving results among a variety of cross-functional stakeholders, working across time zones and international officesExperience in identifying and driving forward work in ambiguous environmentExperience analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to inform business decisionsSkilled in building and optimizing complex workflowsTrack record of staying focused, prioritizing and creating structure across large, ambiguous programs and setting goals for long-term initiativesPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of additional languages other than EnglishExposure to SQL, analytics tools, or a coding languageThorough understanding of translation technologies like translation memories, machine translation, and CAT toolsFamiliarity with internationalization standards such as Unicode and CLDRExperience working with localization vendorsKnowledge of AI technologies and potential application in localization workflowsTop 3 must-have HARD skills:3 years of experience in localization program or project managementFamiliarity with localization standards and best practicesExperience communicating across and driving results among a variety of cross-functional stakeholders, working across time zones and international officesGood to have skills:Experience in identifying and driving forward work in ambiguous environmentTrack record of staying focused, prioritizing and creating structure across large, ambiguous programs and setting goals for long-term initiativesYears of experience needed:3 years of experience in localization program or project managementStory Behind the Need – Business Group & Key Projects:One of the FTE Localization Program Managers is already on leave due to a delicate health situation. I am looking to cover for this role during said leave period.Typical Day in the Role:Review assigned project progress vs timelines to identify risks, blockers, areas to support, etcReview status of translation requests for assigned productsReview status of localization testing requests for assigned productsCommunicate with main/FTE Localization Program Manager supporting related product spaces to coordinate priorities, areas of concern, next steps and/or plansEngage with cross-functional teams in meetings, text messages and other communication channels to ensure localization efforts are aligned with latest timelines and risks/updates are properly communicated back to product ownersCreate documents to bring clarity on opportunities, risks, gaps, project progress, share knowledge, etcResume Disqualifiers:No, or lower than 3 years of, localization project or program manager experienceNo product localization experienceNo experience supporting complex and dynamic environmentsNo experience working closely with product partners such as Product Management and EngineeringHow will performance be measured:Delivery completion of assigned projects without issues attributable to the candidate's workCommunication and collaboration experience with manager and immediate Localization Program Management teamOverall communication of project-related risks, concerns or issues across manager, immediate team and cross-functional partnersInterview Process/Format:Interview with Hiring ManagerInterview with an additional senior Localization Program ManagerCandidate will get a chance to work on supporting the localization of new, exciting products in the Reality Labs and Metaverse spaces.
