Field Service Technician

This Field Service Technician role focuses on safely operating a company vehicle to travel across an assigned service route and perform maintenance, service, and installation on industrial manufacturing equipment. The position involves working at varying heights, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and wiring new equipment while maintaining professional relationships with customers.

Responsibilities
  • Safely drive a company vehicle throughout the assigned service route and adhere to all traffic and safety regulations.
  • Perform routine maintenance, service, and installation on industrial manufacturing equipment such as industrial garage doors, dock levelers, truck restraints, and high-speed doors.
  • Work from various height levels using scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklift baskets, and ladders, including heights up to 40 feet.
  • Troubleshoot and repair levelers, locks, and doors to ensure proper and safe operation.
  • Run routine electrical circuits and wire up new equipment according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to plan and execute maintenance and installation tasks.
  • Work with electrical systems up to 480 volts while following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Use hand and power tools, including drills, grinders, and various types of saws, to perform mechanical and electrical tasks.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment to reduce downtime and extend service life.
  • Perform field service and installation work at different manufacturing sites within the tri-state area.
  • Maintain the company vehicle in good condition, ensuring it is clean, safe, and properly serviced.
  • Develop and maintain good, professional relationships with customers, providing courteous and reliable service.
  • Document work performed and communicate any issues or recommendations clearly and professionally.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of maintenance and/or field service experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in repairs and working with machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Experience working with electrical systems up to 480 volts.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on industrial equipment.
  • Experience as a maintenance technician or field service technician.
  • Ability to work safely at heights using scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklift baskets, and ladders up to 40 feet.
  • Clean driving record suitable for operating a company vehicle.
  • Ability to run electrical circuits and wire new equipment.
  • Strong attention to safety and adherence to established procedures.
  • Professional communication skills to interact effectively with customers.
