Loan OfficerThe Loan Officer will work directly with clients to assess their qualifications for loan services and provide recommendations for consumer, commercial and agricultural loan products that would best suit their needs and/or the needs of their business. This will also include reviewing lending applications to independently evaluate, authorize, and/or recommend the approval of consumer, agricultural and commercial lending products. The Loan Officer is additionally responsible for preparing any necessary loan documentation in order to comply with bank policies and loan regulations.This position is responsible for the following functions:Evaluate application data to advise potential borrowers on the bank's commercial, agricultural or consumer loan products best suited for their needs and the needs of their businessAssist customers with completion of initial lending applications; review submitted applications for accuracy and completion and request additional information or detail as neededVerifies information and financial history provided; acquires borrowers' credit reports from major credit reporting bureau(s)Examines application and creditworthiness of potential borrower; determines or makes recommendations regarding approval or denial/modification of requested loanApproves or, when outside pre-approved lending limits, refers loans to management for analysis and approvalEnsures loan agreements are completed according to policy; calculates and explains payment schedulesExplains different lending and credit options and bank products to potential and current clientsMaintains credit and lending records and filesMaintains a robust referral network among the local banking community, with builders, real estate agents, and other related businessesVarious other responsibilities as assigned by supervisorEducation/Certification: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field highly preferred.
