Job Overview
We are seeking a highly vigilant professional to join our Payment Flow Management team. This role will be a crucial part of our financial control framework, responsible for safeguarding the firm's assets by ensuring the accuracy, authenticity, and integrity of high-value external payments. This role involves the critical review, validation, and final release of significant wire transfers. The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional eye for detail, a strong understanding of financial risk, and the ability to operate effectively in a high-stakes environment where precision is paramount. Responsibilities would also include performing callbacks from entities and confirming wiring instructions.
Responsibilities
- This role will drive projects, manage reporting and preparing/reviewing loan documentation while providing support to a variety of tasks related to the loan process. Activities will include independently driving projects, and processing and closing loans within a complex loan operation environment.
- This role integrates subject matter and industry expertise within the loans documentation area.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of how the loan function collectively integrates to contribute to achieving overall business goals.
- Provides value‑added perspective or advice that contributes to the development of new techniques and the improvement of the loan documentation processes for the area.
- Applies in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area to resolve issues related to loan documentation processes.
- Responsible for escalating control gaps and issues to senior management. Identifies loan related control deficiencies and implements appropriate procedures and solutions to mitigate any risk or control losses.
- Resolves complex problems where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of loan procedures and industry standards.
- Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations, mostly but not limited to the loan documentation process.
- Identifies opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Influences decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization.
- Assumes informal/formal leadership role within the team, is involved in the coaching and training of new recruits, and provides guidance and support to junior staff.
- Creates, develops and maintains effective relationships with colleagues, management, internal and external clients and stakeholders, and seeks to understand their needs and provides solutions.
- Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of relevant experience.
- Background in lending operations, payment processing or payment operations.
- Experience in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Private Bank or Wealth Operations is preferred.
- Proficiency in Flexcube/Loan IQ is preferred.
- Sound knowledge of financial products, accounting principles and practices.
- High degree of numeracy, an analytical approach to tasks and problem‑solving skills are essential.
- Ability to understand complex data and condense it into key themes.
Education
- Bachelor’s or university degree or equivalent experience.

Salary range: $78,080.00 – $117,120.00. In addition to salary, Citi offers discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
