A highly regarded Midwestern law firm is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Litigation Partner/Member to join its growing practice in Chicago. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned IP litigator with an established practice to take on a leadership role handling sophisticated intellectual property disputes while leveraging a strong platform for continued growth.
What You'll Do
- Lead complex intellectual property litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Handle sophisticated patent disputes, including significant design patent litigation matters.
- Represent clients in trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property disputes.
- Develop and execute litigation strategy, including discovery, depositions, expert coordination, dispositive motions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
- Advise clients on litigation risks, business considerations, and strategic outcomes.
- Manage client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on high-stakes matters.
- Mentor and develop junior attorneys while leading litigation teams.
- Collaborate across practice groups to provide comprehensive client solutions.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and continued growth of the IP litigation practice.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Licensed in Illinois or eligible for admission in Illinois.
- 10+ years of intellectual property litigation experience.
- Significant experience handling patent litigation matters, including design patent disputes.
- Portable book of business of approximately $250,000-$400,000+ in annual collections.
- Strong business development skills and a demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships.
- Proven ability to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters.
- Excellent writing, advocacy, analytical, and client service skills.
