Paralegal For Litigation Practice GroupDonahue Fitzgerald LLP is seeking an experienced and certified Paralegal for our Litigation Practice group in our Oakland office. This role will support our litigation partners and associates.The primary responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to, calendaring deadlines, document management, document organization, document review, Bates labeling, compiling information for discovery responses, pleadings, motions, depositions, and trial preparation.Job DutiesGather documents for review; respond to subpoenas, agency charges, and general litigation matters;Prepare strong, factually accurate case summaries, position statements, witness lists, legal hold memoranda, and other legal documents;Assist with witness preparation for testimony and respond to formal discovery requests;Electronic filing in state and federal courtsManagement of litigation databases and support of electronic discovery processesCommunicate professionally by email or by telephone with clients, federal, state, and local agencies, and court personnel;Conduct legal and factual research with respect to litigation matters;Work under the direction of an attorney to assess and resolve routine legal issuesCalendar, track, and meet all case deadlines; andWork on special projects and other matters as requestedKnowledge, Skills & RequirementsBachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate requiredAt least 3+ years' general litigation experienceExcellent research skillsSuperior verbal and written communication skillsMust be a self-starter with superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments independentlyAbility to interface with clients and vendorsMust be detail-orientedAbility to problem solve and work with a variety of personalities and work stylesAbility and willingness to think outside the box to develop solutions to challenging situationsProficient with Office 365, NetDocs, IManage or similar document management program, FoxIt ProStrong Excel experienceStrong working knowledge of E-discovery, including the technical aspects of collecting, reviewing, and producing electronically stored informationPrior experience with litigation support and e-discovery systems such as Everlaw, Relativity, LiveNote, Summation, and Trial Director, preferredOther duties as assignedMust be able to work 5 days in the office for the first 90 days of employment and then a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the officeThis is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established firm that offers interesting work, a collaborative working environment, opportunities to support pro bono activities and competitive benefits.The salary range is $80,000 to $100,000 per year, with an annual base salary.
