Medical Malpractice Litigation Paralegal
Location: Chicago, IL
Our client, a nationally recognized plaintiff-side litigation firm, is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support its Birth Injury Litigation practice in Chicago. This role requires strong medical malpractice litigation experience and will work closely with attorneys handling complex birth injury cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests, interrogatories, disclosures, and motions
- Organize and maintain case files and litigation documents
- Review, analyze, and organize large volumes of medical records
- Request, track, and manage medical records
- Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, and expert witnesses
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation and document management
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Ensure medical and case-related documentation is complete and up to date
Qualifications
- 5+ years of paralegal experience in medical malpractice litigation required
- Strong litigation experience from case inception through trial preparation
- Experience reviewing and organizing complex medical records
- Excellent organizational and document management skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling birth injury or birth defect cases
- Plaintiff-side personal injury or catastrophic injury litigation experience

Please note: This role is heavily focused on birth injury litigation , and candidates MUST have a strong background in medical malpractice matters involving complex medical records, expert coordination, and litigation support.
The pay range for this position is $30-40/hour depending on experience. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
