Litigation Associate
Client maintains both a litigation and transaction practice. On the litigation side, the firm focuses primarily on business, real estate, commercial, employment and general liability litigation. Also represents a series of companies as outside general counsel, and in that role, provides a wide range of transactional services, including corporate formation and structuring documents, employment practices and agreements, terms/service agreements, etc., as well as general business and employment counseling.
Job Duties
- Draft pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and pre-trial documents
- Court appearances for oral arguments on motions and ex parte applications
- Take and defend depositions
- Trial preparation
- Handle 10+ case load
- Opportunities to support transactions, as well as participate in trials, are available within our diverse and deep practice.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate Degree
- California Bar License (Licensure in other jurisdictions a plus)
- Ability to control/maintain own tasks/schedule
- Experience with Google applications, Microsoft applications and Westlaw
- Must have good verbal and communication skills and effectively communicate them in person and over the phone
- Positive, high-energy attitude
Litigation Associate
- 3-15 years of litigation experience in California State and Federal Courts
- Experience drafting motions for summary judgment and other substantive motions (preferred)
- Experience in taking and defending depositions (preferred)
- Trial experience (preferred)
