Job Details
The candidate must have five or more years of litigation experience in business or commercial finance (preferably securities) to join the practice as a senior associate hoping to join the partnership. This candidate should be able to handle matters with confidence and actively participate in formulating legal strategy (competently reviewing and drafting discovery, motion practice, witness preparation, taking and defending depositions).
Trial Experience And Sophisticated Motion Practice Are Preferred.
They would prefer candidates with financial literacy who can review and understand financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, and understand financial markets. Applicants must have an Illinois license and be admitted to practice in the Northern District of Illinois.
Candidate resumes should also reflect academic achievements and leadership roles during law school. It is the firm’s expectation that associates will actively engage with their colleagues displaying professionalism, a positive attitude, and meaningfully contribute to a collegial and productive workplace environment.
The firm also values candidates with an entrepreneurial growth mindset willing to strengthen and build client relationships, bring in new business, and be a part of the firm’s next generation of leadership. The firm is not looking for candidates who have mass volume litigation experience including debt collection, foreclosure, workers compensation. The firm may consider candidates with some insurance defense background.
