Litigation Associate — Commercial Disputes

About the Role
A well-established law firm with a national litigation practice is looking to add a mid-level Litigation Associate (roughly 4-6 years' experience) to its Commercial Litigation team in Washington, D.C. This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-stakes disputes alongside experienced trial counsel, with strong potential for mentorship and accelerated growth.
What You'll Do
- Manage multiple phases of complex commercial litigation matters
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Handle written discovery and take/defend depositions
- Support trial preparation and, where applicable, trial presentation
- Collaborate closely with senior attorneys on strategy and case management
Helpful (Not Required) Experience
- Digital assets / cryptocurrency-related disputes
- Corporate governance, shareholder, or partnership disputes
- Insurance recovery matters, particularly representing policyholders
What We're Looking For
- Admission to the D.C. Bar
- Strong academic background and writing skills
- Prior law firm or clerkship experience
- Comfort with oral advocacy and independent case handling
- Experience on both plaintiff- and defense-side matters is a plus
Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, in line with market rates for D.C. commercial litigation associates at comparable firms.
