LHH is working with a respected Chicago‑based litigation boutique that focuses on consumer financial services (CFS) matters. The firm is growing and looking to add two (possibly three) litigators to its team.
About the Role
Attorneys at this firm handle sophisticated consumer financial services disputes on behalf of banks, lenders, fintech companies, payment processors, and related institutions. This is a strong opportunity for an attorney who understands the CFS space or is looking to grow their knowledge in that area and is looking for real responsibility, meaningful client exposure, and support to grow a practice in a low‑bureaucracy environment.
What You’ll Do
- Brief and argue motions; appear in court and before arbitrators
- Take and defend depositions; examine and cross witnesses
- Work directly with clients on strategy, exposure, and reputational risk
- Handle class actions, arbitrations, and regulatory‑adjacent disputes
- Build your profile through industry conferences, panels, and publications
Ideal Background
- JD with 3+ years of litigation experience
- Several years of consumer financial services experience preferred, including hands‑on work with: banks, creditors, and lenders; fintech companies and payment processors; debt settlement and/or debt collection industries
- Strong writing skills and comfort appearing in court
- Interest in practice development and business growth
- Active bar admission; IL preferred, but also interested in candidates licensed in OH, MI, FL, PA, CA, or TX
What They Offer
- Anticipated salary range: $170,000–$220,000 (depending on experience)
- Reasonable billable expectation: 1,750 hours/year
- Flexible hybrid schedule : three remote days per week
- Fully remote positions considered for attorneys outside Chicago with substantial CFS experience
