A respected and growing law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its team in the South Suburban Chicago area . This opportunity offers meaningful, hands-on litigation work in both state and federal court , with a focus on civil rights defense and representing governmental and public-sector clients .
Key Responsibilities
- Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation-related documents
- Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony
- Manage cases through discovery and trial preparation
- Appear in state and federal court proceedings
- Partner with clients and legal teams to develop litigation strategy
Qualifications
- 5+ years of litigation experience in state and federal court
- Experience with civil rights litigation and/or government-related matters
- Strong legal research, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage an active caseload
- Experience representing governmental entities or public-sector clients is preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $100,000-$150,000
- Discretionary bonus plus additional compensation for exceeding billable expectations
- Billable requirement: 1,920 hours , with flexibility
