A well-established mid-size law firm with five offices is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its growing litigation practice. The firm represents businesses, entrepreneurs, property owners, and other clients in a broad range of complex commercial disputes. The attorney will work closely with experienced partners and have meaningful responsibility throughout the life cycle of matters, including case strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation.
Responsibilities include:
Handle a variety of commercial and business litigation matters
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and other court filings
Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
Manage written discovery and document production
Take and defend depositions
Attend hearings, mediations, and court proceedings
Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments and strategy
Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials as experience permits
Work collaboratively with partners, associates, paralegals, and support staff
Qualifications:
~ J.D. from an accredited law school
~ Active Florida Bar membership
~3+ years of commercial litigation experience preferred
~ Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
~ Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice
~ Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently
~ Strong communication and client-service skills
~ Trial or significant courtroom experience is a plus
