Duties
- Manage all phases of complex medical malpractice and healthcare litigation in state and federal courts.
- Defend healthcare providers, hospitals, and long-term care facilities in medical malpractice and elder abuse cases.
- Take and defend fact and expert witness depositions; manage written discovery.
- Draft and argue substantive motions, including Motions for Summary Judgment.
- Participate in client meetings, hearings, mediations, and litigation-related proceedings.
- Collaborate with partners, clients, experts, and insurance carriers on high-exposure cases.
Requirements
- 4+ years of litigation experience in medical malpractice, elder abuse, or catastrophic injury defense.
- Active California bar admission required; federal court admissions preferred.
- Experience taking and defending depositions; expert depositions experience preferred.
- Experience with trial preparation and/or second-chair trial responsibilities preferred.
- Exceptional writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Active California bar admission.
