Litigation Associate

About the role

We are seeking a litigation associate with 4+ years of experience. You will work alongside senior partners on IP and commercial disputes, play a key role in case management, discovery and deposition practice, and contribute to case strategy in a meaningful way.

Responsibilities

• Handle IP disputes across patent, trademark, and trade secret matters, as well as general commercial litigation
• Manage several phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery, overseeing document review, and preparing privilege logs
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other filings
• Perform and defend depositions
• Support partners in trial preparation, including witness preparation and pretrial motions
• Collaborate across practice groups, including trademark counseling and prosecution teams, to provide integrated client support
• Interface directly with clients and opposing counsel

Qualifications

• JD and admission to the California State Bar; Massachusetts Bar admission is a plus but not required.
• 4+ years of litigation experience, ideally from a large law firm or recognized litigation boutique.
• Demonstrated experience with hearings and case management.
• Hands‑on deposition and discovery experience with responsibility for managing these processes, not merely observing them.
• Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high‑performing, client‑focused environment.
