A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate in San Francisco, CA, with four to seven years of substantive litigation experience, particularly in wage and hour matters. The role involves supporting the Labor & Employment practice group and broader Litigation practice group.
Responsibilities
- Handle litigation matters through all phases, including pre-litigation strategy, pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Draft high-quality pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests and responses.
- Participate in conducting and defending depositions and preparing witnesses.
- Appear at hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Support complex employment matters, including wage and hour class actions and PAGA actions.
- Assist in advising employer clients on employment law compliance issues.
- Collaborate with partners to develop litigation strategy.
- Prepare matters for mediation and trial.
- Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- 4-7 years of litigation experience, preferably in employment and business litigation.
- Experience with wage and hour disputes, class actions, and PAGA matters.
- Experience reviewing and revising employee handbooks is preferred.
- Exposure to depositions, hearings, trials, and mediations is preferred.
- Strong legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
Education
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
