A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Business Litigation Associate to join its Business Litigation Practice Group in Houston. This is an outstanding opportunity to work on complex commercial litigation matters within a sophisticated and collaborative practice. About the Role
The ideal candidate will handle a broad range of commercial litigation matters in both federal and state courts, as well as arbitration forums. You will be involved in all phases of litigation, including case strategy, motion practice, discovery, hearings, and depositions, with a particular focus on matters involving the energy construction, real estate, and/or banking industries.
Responsibilities
- Draft and manage basic and complex litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Prepare answers, dispositive motions, and other routine and advanced filings
- Handle hearings, depositions, and arbitration proceedings (JAMS, AAA, etc.)
- Apply federal and state court procedural rules and practices
- Manage day-to-day case workflow and litigation strategy
- Support matters involving energy construction, real estate, and banking-related disputes
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of general commercial litigation experience
- Significant case management experience
- Experience with arbitration proceedings (JAMS, AAA, or similar forums)
- Excellent academic and professional credentials
- Superior legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong communication and client-facing abilities
- Judicial clerkship experience preferred, but not required
