Litigation Associate

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Associate with 5+ years of litigation experience to manage cases from inception through resolution . The ideal candidate is a self-directed attorney with strong litigation skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle complex matters with minimal supervision. Active admission to the California Bar is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of litigation, including:
• Pre-suit investigation and case strategy
• Pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Depositions and expert coordination
• Law and motion practice
• Mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
• Draft and argue substantive motions, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment, and discovery motions
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, experts, and fact witnesses
• Prepare discovery requests and responses, including ESI
• Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and trials
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and courts
• Develop case strategy and provide risk assessments and recommendations
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to efficiently manage caseloads
• Maintain accurate timekeeping and comply with firm procedures and deadlines

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
• 5+ years of litigation experience , with demonstrated experience handling cases from inception through resolution

Strong experience with:

• Discovery (written and depositions)
• Law and motion practice
• Mediation and settlement negotiations
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and client-facing skills

Preferred Qualifications (if applicable)

• Trial or arbitration experience

Experience in one or more of the following practice areas:

• Commercial litigation
• Professional liability
• Business disputes
• Experience mentoring junior associates
• Familiarity with California state and federal courts
