Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in San Francisco. This full-time position requires two to six years of substantive general litigation experience, including work with dispositive motions, discovery, and exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills. The role offers a hybrid schedule after 90 days, with three days in the office and up to two days remote.

Duties

  • Handle litigation matters through all phases, including pre-litigation strategy, pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Draft high-quality pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests and responses.
  • Participate in conducting and defending depositions and preparing witnesses.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis on complex disputes.
  • Appear at hearings, case management conferences, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit preparation and coordination with experts.
  • Collaborate with partners, senior associates, and clients to develop litigation strategy.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third-party vendors.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • 2-6 years of complex general litigation experience.
  • Experience drafting and arguing dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions and managing cases through discovery.
  • Trial experience preferred.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple matters and deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
