Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate with 2 to 4 years of experience for its Fort Lauderdale, FL office.

This full-time position offers the opportunity to engage in sophisticated, high-stakes disputes within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Manage and support all phases of complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts.
  • Draft and argue substantive motions, including dispositive motions.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, including expert witnesses.
  • Lead and manage written discovery and e-discovery processes.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Work closely with clients to develop case strategy and provide practical business-oriented advice.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of litigation experience at a law firm or clerkship + firm combination.
  • Experience in complex commercial, corporate, financial institution, real estate, land use, construction, and securities matters, including class action defense is a plus.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience practicing in federal and state court.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and take ownership of cases.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Client-service mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Sound judgment and strategic thinking.

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

Admission to the Florida Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission).
