Litigation AssistantHERS Advisors has partnered with a leading business litigation law firm in Orange County (5 days in office) who is looking for an eager Litigation Assistant to join their successful team. The Litigation Assistant will provide complex and specialized secretarial and clerical support to assigned attorneys and paralegals.Responsibilities for Litigation Assistant:Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda ensuring proper format, accuracy and completenessFile legal documents with proper courts, prepare trial notebooks and exhibit listings for meetings, court appearances and hearingsMaintain timekeepers' calendars and monitor docketing deadlines, review documents and correspondence for important deadlines and informationAssist attorneys with reviewing, organizing, and summarizing case materials, mail, and other case related documentsOrganize and maintain electronic files in the firm's document management system (NetDocs)Assist in preparation of matrices, charts, and spreadsheets as neededAssist with mediation and trial preparationKeep accurate time records for billable tasksSchedule and arrange meetings, depos and conferences/teleconferences, coordinate travel arrangements, and perform other duties related to maintaining attorneys' schedulePrepare and process expense reports, check requests, travel reimbursements, etc. in accordance with firm guidelinesRequirements for Litigation Assistant:2+ years' experience working as a litigation assistant in the public law practice area for a law firm or equivalent environmentUndergraduate degree preferredProficient in state and Federal court filingsKeep abreast of court rules and procedures and understand legal terminologyProficiency with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint); NetDocsSalary range: 65-75k.
