Announcement of vacancy for the school year. Grant funded position available.

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with proper endorsement
• Must meet MCL & administrative rules governing the certification of MI teachers
• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state statutes
• Reading Recovery training preferred or willing to obtain
• Shows knowledge of current literacy practices and strategies
• Thorough knowledge of the components of a comprehensive literacy program and literacy strategies
• Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, students, and parents and the general public
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

Applicant must provide evidence of meeting qualification.

Duties:

• Coordinate and provide strategic instructional coaching to meet the individual needs of teachers
• Model effective instructional strategies for teachers
• Facilitate study groups
• Train teachers in data analysis and differentiated instruction
• Coach and mentor colleagues
• Ensure evidence-based reading programs
• Train teachers to diagnose and address reading deficiencies
• Work with teachers in applying evidence-based reading strategies in other content areas
• Work frequently with pupils in whole and small group instruction or tutoring in the contents of modeling and coaching in or outside of teachers' classrooms
• Increase instructional density
• Help lead and support reading leadership teams
• Model and train teachers in accordance with Lincoln Park Schools instructional philosophy and curriculum
• Model small and whole group instruction
• Train new hires before school starts
• Will not serve as a function in any administrative capacity
• Other duties as assigned

Salary: According to LPEA master agreement
