Mold TechnicianThis role supports Liquibox with Sealed Air as part of the Lester Prairie Team, helping deliver innovative packaging solutions to customers across the region. We are seeking a skilled Mold Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up injection molds, configuring auxiliary equipment, following established manufacturing processes, performing preventative maintenance, conducting safety checks, and troubleshooting technical issues to ensure optimal production quality and efficiency.Schedule OptionsDay Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (12-hour shifts)Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (12-hour shifts)Rotation Pattern: 2-2-3 schedule (work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days, then alternates)Pay rate: $27/hr (commensurate with experience)Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and maintain safety protocols while operating injection molding equipmentConfigure and set up injection molding machines according to production schedules and job specificationsInstall and align molds, calibrate process parameters, and program machine controllersSet up auxiliary equipment, including robotics, material handling systems, and temperature controllersManage raw material handling and processing according to manufacturing specificationsPerform quality control inspections and troubleshoot production issuesConduct preventative maintenance and safety checks on molding machines and peripheral equipmentDocument process data, production metrics, and quality control resultsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives and safety programsProvide technical support across manufacturing operationsQualifications RequiredHigh school diploma or GED equivalentPost-secondary education or certification in injection molding technology, plastics engineering, or related fieldMinimum 4 years of combined experience: 1+ year as Mold Technician and 3+ years as Set-Up Technician (or equivalent combination of training and hands-on experience)Physical capability to lift up to 60 pounds and maintain standing/walking position throughout 12-hour shiftsStrong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills for hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systemsProficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation, blueprints, and process specificationsExcellent communication skills for cross-functional collaborationExperience with injection molding process optimization and cycle time reductionPreferred Skills & ExperienceCertification in Scientific Molding, RJG training, or similar technical credentialsExperience with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and quality management systemsFamiliarity with lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodologyKnowledge of common injection molding materials (ABS, PC, PP, PE, PET, etc.)Experience with preventative maintenance programs for injection molding equipmentProficiency with common molding machine controllers (Fanuc, Allen Bradley, etc.)Benefits and Perks401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programEmployee discountsFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid elder carePaid time offParental leaveProfessional development assistanceRetirement planTuition reimbursementVision insurance
