As an Assembly Technician, you'll play a vital role in maintaining production efficiency, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met. This position combines technical skills with leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesChampion workplace safety by following established protocols and proactively identifying potential hazardsCollaborate with quality teams to ensure all products meet or exceed customer specificationsDiagnose, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on assembly equipment including: Air system adjustments and fitting replacements Sensor calibration and optimization Pallet index jam resolution Alarm troubleshooting and system resets Gripper and pin replacementTrain and mentor assembly operators on safety protocols, operational best practices, and quality standardsDevelop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and production outputMaintain equipment health checks and preventative maintenance schedulesEnsure adequate inventory of maintenance parts and componentsDocument and report daily production metrics to managementPrioritize production tasks based on shipping requirements and deadlinesOperate assembly machinery including boxing, labeling, and palletizing equipmentMaintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standardsQualifications RequiredHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent2+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environmentsDemonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsExperience with industrial equipment maintenance and repairStrong organizational abilities and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMathematical aptitude for production calculations and measurementsPhysical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and stand/walk during 12-hour shiftsProficiency in operating manual and electric pallet jacksPreferred Skills & ExperienceTechnical certification in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or a related fieldExperience with pneumatic systems and controlsKnowledge of lean manufacturing principlesExperience training or mentoring team membersFamiliarity with production scheduling and inventory managementCore CompetenciesTechnical problem-solving and troubleshootingEquipment maintenance and repairTeam leadership and trainingProcess improvementSafety compliance and awarenessQuality control and assuranceTime management and prioritizationCross-functional collaborationPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours)Capable of lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing up to 60 poundsManual dexterity for operating tools and equipmentVisual acuity to inspect parts and read technical documentationWork EnvironmentThis position operates in a manufacturing facility with exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate noise levels, and standard industrial conditions.
