SNS One, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Engineer Level to support advanced enterprise and mission-critical infrastructure within a fast-paced Agile environment. This role is heavily focused on Linux automation engineering , with a strong emphasis on Ansible, Ansible Tower/AWX, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated playbook development .
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments and demonstrate the ability to engineer scalable, automated, and cybersecurity-compliant solutions across development, testing, and production systems.
Candidates without strong hands-on Ansible automation and playbook experience will not be considered.
Primary Responsibilities- Serve as a senior Linux Systems Engineer supporting enterprise and mission-focused Linux infrastructure
- Design, develop, maintain, and optimize complex Ansible playbooks , roles, templates, and automation workflows
- Build and maintain scalable automation solutions using Ansible Tower/AWX
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies to standardize and automate system deployments and sustainment
- Automate configuration management, patching, system hardening, STIG compliance, and operational processes
- Engineer and implement cybersecurity-compliant Linux capabilities in hyper-converged and virtualized environments
- Support Tier III operations, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis across production environments
- Collaborate with Architects, Administrators, Cybersecurity teams, and Integration teams on system requirements and deployment strategies
- Develop automation solutions for provisioning, monitoring, remediation, and sustainment activities
- Create and maintain technical documentation, engineering diagrams, implementation procedures, and operational runbooks
- Brief technical updates, engineering solutions, and status to leadership, teammates, and customers
- Support testing, prototyping, and production validation efforts as required
- Enforce configuration management and engineering best practices across the environment
- Travel up to 10% as needed
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph or ability to obtain Full Scope Polygraph
- Minimum 10+ years of related Linux engineering experience
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on Ansible automation experience
- Demonstrated expertise developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks in enterprise environments
- Strong experience with:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Ansible Automation Platform / AWX / Tower
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Linux scripting (Bash, Python, Shell)
- Configuration management and automation
- Virtualization technologies
- Shared storage technologies
- System hardening and STIG implementation
- Experience engineering and supporting highly available Linux environments
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements
- Exceptional troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and briefing skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Additional years of experience may substitute for degree requirements
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or containerized environments
- Experience with VMware, Nutanix, or hyper-converged infrastructure
- Familiarity with GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community environments
- Red Hat or Ansible certifications preferred
