Our client is seeking a highly qualified Linux Engineer for a full time/direct hire position, onsite in Leesburg, VA.
*Must be clearable to a Top Secret SCI Clearance

Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and enhance Linux-based systems in a production environment
- Troubleshoot complex issues across OS, storage, authentication, and system performance layers
- Diagnose and resolve boot issues, filesystem problems, and system-level failures
- Manage and support LDAP-based authentication systems (SSSD/PAM)
- Design and build integrations between internal systems, tools, and services
- Develop scripts and lightweight tooling to automate workflows and connect infrastructure components
- Contribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows (GitLab or similar)
- Reduce manual operational tasks through automation and process improvement
- Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to ensure reliable, scalable system operations
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux administration and systems engineering
- Proven depth in troubleshooting across:
- Boot processes
- Filesystems
- System performance and stability
- Experience with LDAP and authentication systems
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Perl, Bash) with demonstrated use in automation and system integration
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred; Jenkins or similar acceptable)
- Experience with Git/version control workflows
- Ability to integrate disparate tools and systems into cohesive solutions
