Line Cook

Position Summary:

Responsible for preparing and cooking food using a wood-fired oven or grill while maintaining food quality, consistency, and presentation. Ensures that all dishes are prepared according to recipes and kitchen standards while following proper food safety and sanitation procedures. Knows how to cook cold section items.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook menu items using wood-fired ovens, grills, and other kitchen equipment.
• Monitor cooking temperatures and cooking times to ensure food is properly cooked.
• Prepare ingredients, sauces, marinades, and other items needed for daily service.
• Maintain consistent food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
• Safely handle firewood, hot surfaces, cooking tools, and kitchen equipment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food storage procedures.
• Monitor food inventory and inform supervisors when supplies are running low.
• Assist with kitchen opening, closing, cleaning, and daily preparation tasks.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining quality and accuracy.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience in a restaurant kitchen or line cook position is Required.
• Knowledge of wood-fired cooking techniques is an advantage.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work with sauces.
• Ability to cook proteins and vegetables to perfection.
• Ability to follow recipes.
• Ability to lift minimum 50 lbs
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work around high temperatures.
