NorthStar Home Hospice is locally owned and operated . We are committed to providing compassionate, personalized care to our patients who live in their own homes or long-term care facilities throughout the Greater Cincinnati area .
We are are looking for dedicated and compassionate people to light up the lives of patients through friendly and supportive visits . Being a hospice volunteer is profoundly rewarding and there is no previous experience needed or medical care involved.
Some of the ways YOU can make a difference when visiting patients:
- Providing companionship
- Reading aloud to the patient or listening to music together
- Looking at photos together and sharing memories (life review)
- Sitting with a patient so caregivers have free time (respite)
- Journaling or scrapbooking (helping the patient record their history)
- Watching movies or playing games
- Simply being present
We provide volunteers with:
- Comprehensive volunteer orientation/training
- Screenings (at no cost to you)
- Ongoing support from our professional hospice team
- Flexibility - volunteer based on your availability, in your preferred area
