Job Description: Lighting Hardware Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a Lighting Hardware Engineer with strong experience in automotive exterior lighting systems and power electronics. The ideal candidate will support end-to-end hardware development for automotive lighting products, including headlamps, signaling lamps, and rear combination lamps.
Responsibilities:
- Develop hardware for automotive exterior lighting systems, including headlamps, signaling lamps, and rear combination lamps.
- Design and evaluate system-level power architectures and LED driver strategies.
- Work with linear and switching LED drivers while considering EMI, thermal, and cost requirements.
- Support functional safety requirements including ASIL QM/A/B.
- Integrate and troubleshoot CAN-FD and LIN communication.
- Perform Worst-Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA), component derating, thermal analysis, and reliability analysis.
- Support DFMEA, MTBF, and production readiness activities.
- Drive EMC pre-compliance and compliance testing.
- Troubleshoot conducted and radiated emissions issues through PCB layout, filtering, and architectural changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in automotive lighting hardware development.
- Strong knowledge of automotive exterior lighting systems and power electronics.
- Experience with LED drivers, power architectures, and electronic hardware design.
- Experience with EMI/EMC testing and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of CAN-FD and LIN.
- Experience with functional safety / ASIL.
- Strong understanding of thermal, reliability, and circuit analysis.
- Experience with DFMEA and production readiness.
