Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. This is accomplished by enforcing facility policies, rules and regulations. It is the responsibility of the lifeguard to inspect the aquatic facility for any unsafe conditions and equipment; and to inform management of any concerns. The lifeguard must test pool water before each shift to assure proper water quality.
Minimum Qualifications
18 years of age.
Current Lifeguard certification (Submission of certification required).
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/First Aid certification (Submission of certification required).
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong swimmer.
Able to work in a team environment.
Ability to remain calm in an emergency.
Observant and able to identify risks and hazards around the pool deck and water.
