Are you passionate about creating a safe and positive environment for children and families? We are seeking dependable and enthusiastic individuals to supervise aquatic activities, enforce pool safety rules, and help provide a fun and secure experience for everyone at Bright Stars Academy. As a key member of our aquatics team, you will monitor swimmers, respond appropriately to emergencies, complete regular safety checks, and help maintain a clean and organized facility. Responsibilities
- Supervise swimming activities and ensure the safety of all participants and guests in and around the pool
- Enforce pool rules, facility policies, and established safety procedures
- Monitor participants during group lessons, individual lessons, and open pool activities
- Conduct safety checks of the pool, equipment, deck, and surrounding areas
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, administer first aid or CPR, and activate emergency action plans when necessary
- Communicate important information promptly and professionally with supervisors and coworkers
- Foster positive and supportive relationships with staff, students, and families
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized aquatic facility
- Complete opening and closing procedures as needed, including basic pool maintenance, water testing, and recording results
- Attend quarterly in-service training programs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Current lifeguard certification is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain Red Cross CPR/AED certification
- Prior experience as a lifeguard, swim instructor, or competitive swimmer is preferred
- Prior experience working with children in any setting is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Positive, enthusiastic, outgoing, and willing to learn
- Dependable and available to work year-round
- Available to work a minimum of two to three days per week during peak hours, including weekday afternoons or evenings and Saturday mornings
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain standing for shifts lasting up to five hours
- Ability to successfully complete a background check
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Applicants under 18 must obtain working papers
