Position Overview

As a SafeSplash Lifeguard, you are responsible for maintaining constant surveillance of the pool and surrounding deck areas during swim lessons. You play a vital role in protecting swimmers, supporting instructors, and ensuring lessons operate safely and efficiently.

This position offers consistent hours, a supportive team environment, and clear expectations centered around safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities Lifeguarding & Safety

• Maintain continuous visual supervision of the pool and surrounding deck.
n
• Recognize and prevent unsafe behaviors before they become emergencies.
n
• Respond immediately to emergencies by performing rescues, first aid, and CPR when necessary.
n
• Enforce all pool safety rules and SafeSplash policies.
n
• Complete incident and accident reports accurately and promptly.
n

Operations Support

n
• Assist instructors and deck managers during lessons as needed.
n
• Set up and break down equipment before and after classes.
n
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pool environment.
n
• Report equipment concerns, facility issues, or safety hazards to management immediately.
n

Required Qualifications

n
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or willingness to obtain certification immediately upon hire.
n
• Strong swimming ability (in-water swim evaluation required).
n
• Ability to remain focused and attentive for extended periods.
n
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
n
• Comfortable working with infants, children, teens, and adults.
n
• Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
n
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
n
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish is a plus).
n

Preferred Qualifications

n
• Previous lifeguard experience.
n
• Experience working in aquatics, recreation, coaching, or swim instruction.
n
• CPR, AED, and First Aid experience.
n
• Calm, confident decision-making during emergencies.
n
• Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
n
