Plan estates past the OEM clock.
Lead lifecycle strategy.
Lead engagement-level lifecycle planning for federal and state agency estates: end-of-service-life extension, refresh roadmaps timed to workload evidence instead of OEM announcements, and capex/opex models a procurement officer can defend. You own the lifecycle story clients buy — and the documentation that makes it stick.
WUC Technologies is a managed IT services partner — sharpest in healthcare services, where the flagship workloads are Epic/EHR hosting and radiology on Dell PowerScale and NetApp AFF storage. Savings cases the practice builds are structural: the same models behind the infrastructure savings calculator .
- Federal and state agency estates with fiscal-year-aligned procurement cycles
- EoSL-extension engagements where refresh happens on the client's calendar, not the OEM's
- Capex/opex models and refresh roadmaps presented at the decision table
- Public-sector procurement vehicles and the compliance surface that comes with them
What you’ll own — and what it takes.
Responsibilities
- Own lifecycle planning across a portfolio of federal and state engagements
- Build refresh roadmaps from workload evidence: performance data, failure curves, and support-cost reality
- Model capex/opex trade-offs for EoSL extension versus refresh, defensibly
- Navigate public-sector procurement vehicles and their documentation requirements
- Partner with field operations on execution and with compliance on the audit trail
- Present at the client decision table as the practice's lifecycle authority
Requirements
- 10+ years in infrastructure lifecycle, capacity, or asset strategy roles
- Fluency in public-sector procurement vehicles and fiscal-year purchasing rhythms
- Financial modeling depth: capex/opex, TCO, depreciation-aware refresh economics
- Multi-OEM platform literacy across server, storage, and network estates
- Writing that survives procurement review — clear, sourced, defensible
- Boston HQ presence preferred; remote considered for the right record
Nice to have
- Direct federal agency engagement experience
- Familiarity with NIST-aligned operations documentation
- Prior third-party-maintenance or OEM-alternative market experience
The hiring process is four steps with documented entry criteria — application (response inside 5 business days), a 45-minute practice conversation, a field interview, and a transparent offer. The compliance practice documents operating work to NIST SP 800-53 and guidance from CISA . WUC Technologies is an equal opportunity employer.
