Licensing Specialist - LakelandThe Licensing Specialist coordinates, obtains, and maintains business licensing for all Publix locations to ensure compliance with federal, state and local business licensing requirements.

Responsibilities include:Researching and obtaining business licenses, permits and registrations for Publix locationsMaintaining and renewing expiring business licenses, permits and registrationsCommunicating with Publix store management, state and local governments and law enforcement officialsProject managing and providing status updates to management on the various licenses (business tax receipts, occupational license, beverage licenses, etc).Performing various additional licensing related tasks necessary to comply with federal, state and local regulatory requirements.Required Qualifications:Associate's degree in Business, Legal, Finance, Accounting or another analytical discipline or equivalent experience3 years experience in an analytical fieldKnowledge of licensing research methods – including internet research, review of ordinances and statutes and contact with state, county and city regulatory agencies.Ability to multi-task and handle large volumes of work at accurately including good time management skillsAbility to plan and organize projects to meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem solving skillsSkilled in oral and written communicationAttention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughnessAbility to complete tasks independently and with little supervisionAbility to work with others and coordinate their work on license renewalsExhibit professionalism and the ability to deal with confidential subject matterExcellent attendance and punctualityShow enthusiasm, initiative and be self-motivatedAbility to positively influence team synergyCommitment to Continuous Quality ImprovementCommitment to Publix and our missionIntermediate knowledge of Publix systems, including SAP and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access) applicationsAbility to work a variable schedule to meet business needsWillingness to travel as needed for business needsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal, Finance, Accounting or another analytical discipline or equivalent experience4 years' experience in an analytical fieldNotary and/or Paralegal Studies CertificationKnowledge of various federal, state, and local licensing requirementsStrong negotiation skillsResearch skills including the ability to interpret and comprehend legal documents, state and federal statues, and local ordinancesAdvanced knowledge of Publix systems, including SAP, Adobe, License HQ and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access) applicationsFrequency of Pay: WeeklyMinimum Base Pay: 24.50Maximum Base Pay: 33.80Potential Annual Base Pay: 50,960 - 70,304Year End Bonus: To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.
