Position Summary

Reporting to senior leadership, the Licensing Manager will serve as a key interface between the company, regulatory agencies, and external consultants. This individual will be responsible for managing licensing activities from planning through approval, coordinating technical studies and regulatory submissions, and ensuring projects remain on track to meet critical compliance and development milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders throughout the licensing process
  • Develop and execute licensing strategies and regulatory engagement plans to support project objectives
  • Prepare, review, and manage regulatory filings, applications, technical reports, and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate internal subject matter experts and third-party consultants to ensure timely delivery of licensing and compliance requirements
  • Support technical assessments, risk evaluations, safety analyses, and related documentation effort
  • Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and translate changes into actionable project plan
  • Track licensing schedules, milestones, risks, and dependencies, escalating issues as necessary to maintain project timeline
  • Manage document control processes, version tracking, and regulatory records to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Support regulatory audits, reviews, information requests, and stakeholder engagement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Environmental Science, Public Policy, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in licensing, regulatory affairs, compliance, safety engineering, permitting, or related disciplines
  • Experience working within highly regulated industries such as energy, utilities, infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, compressed natural gas, oil and gas, aerospace, defense, or similar sectors
  • Strong understanding of regulatory processes, technical documentation, and stakeholder engagements
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies, technical analyses, safety evaluations, or compliance framework
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing materials for regulators, auditors, or executive leadership
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and document management capabilities
  • Based in Austin, TX or Washington, DC, or open to relocation

This position will be onsite at their office in Austin, TX, with 20% travel.
