The Social Worker is responsible for coordinating services that support the quality delivery of appropriate and efficient patient care to the patient population of King's Daughters Medical Center.

The Social Worker is responsible for coordinating services that support the quality delivery of appropriate and efficient patient care to the patient population of King's Daughters Medical Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as a patient advocate for patients of all ages.
- Coordinates discharge planning and related services to support appropriate transitions of care.
- Maintains current information regarding available community, state, and federal resources.
- Assists with ethical issues and provides patients and families with information and support regarding available resources and processes.
- Provides patients and families with information regarding the development and completion of advance directives.
- Reports suspected cases of abuse and/or neglect to appropriate local and state authorities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and hospital policies.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
- Current licensure to practice Social Work in the State of Mississippi.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated mature judgment and effective problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of and ability to utilize appropriate channels of communication.
