Licensed Practical Nurse / Registered Nurse - Plastic Surgery & Surgical Specialists

• Assists the physician and/or nurse to provide physical care for the patient before, during, and after examinations and procedures staying within the Missouri Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Registered Nurse (RN) Scope of Practice in the Missouri Nurse Practice Act.
• Performs routine clerical activities required for efficient operation of the ambulatory clinic.
• Assures the efficient and effective functioning of clinic processes.
• Uses facility communication systems correctly.
• Provides appropriate safety and infection control measures.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (LPN or RN)

Experience:

• 1 year in an acute care setting; prefer an additional 1 year in ambulatory care

Certification/License:

• MO LPN/ RN License in good standing
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certified or obtain within 90-days of employment

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Basic computer skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works in heated and air-conditioned area; may be exposed to infectious material and contagious conditions; frequently exposed to patient body fluids, including blood and contaminated sharps; potential for exposure to hazardous disinfecting chemicals and radiation; must follow universal precautions and utilize personal protective equipment.
