Job Summary
Heartwood Extended Health Care in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) responsible for resident services and other duties assigned, performing duties with other staff and volunteers as appropriate. Duties include medication assistance/administration, nursing services, dining services and others as needed for resident well-being. Trains other staff as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Supervises nursing care to residents
- Complies with state and Federal Regulations
- Works Collaboratively with members of the healthcare team
- Maintains standards of professional nursing practice.
- Provides back-up to Director of Nursing when needed.
- Reviews assignments with Director of Nursing and Administrator.
- Observes changes in resident status, needs or preferences, and communicates them appropriately to the Director of Nursing and/or Resident Care Manager.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work, safety, and other emergency procedures.
- Notifies physician, RN and/or designated agent(s) of resident status/change as appropriate. Receives and executes written and verbal orders from the physician or designated agent, as permitted by state regulations.
- Must possess a current LPN license in good standing.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience in healthcare.
- Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
