Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Location: Hopewell, NJ 08560 Work Schedule: 35 hours/week (Full-Time) Contract Duration: Two (2) Years Onsite Requirement: Mandatory (No Remote / No Telehealth)The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care services to incarcerated individuals under the supervision of the Medical Director, Physician, or Registered Nurse. This role supports medical intake, chronic care, medication administration, sick call, and ongoing patient monitoring within a secure correctional healthcare environment. The LPN works collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, mental health staff, and custody personnel to ensure safe, compliant, and patient-centered healthcare delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care to inmates in accordance with physician orders and nursing protocolsAssist with intake medical screenings and health assessmentsPerform vital signs, wound care, specimen collection, and basic treatmentsMonitor patients for changes in condition and report concerns promptlyAdminister prescribed medications in accordance with scope of practiceMaintain accurate medication administration records (MARs)Monitor and report medication side effects or adverse reactionsAssist with sick call clinics and chronic care follow-upsDocument patient complaints, observations, and nursing interventionsSupport continuity of care under supervision of RN, NP, or PhysicianMaintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in medical recordsFollow all correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and safety protocolsComply with New Jersey correctional healthcare standards and regulationsWork closely with healthcare staff and custody personnelAdhere to security procedures within the correctional facilityParticipate in interdisciplinary communication as requiredRequired QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program (Required)Licensure: Active and unrestricted New Jersey Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (Required)Experience providing nursing care in: Correctional facilities, OR Institutional healthcare, OR Comparable clinical environments (Preferred)Skills & CompetenciesDirect patient care and nursing supportMedication administration and monitoringClinical documentation and reportingCorrectional healthcare protocolsInfection control and patient safetyInterdisciplinary collaborationAbility to work in a secure environmentStrong communication and observation skillsIdeal Candidate ProfileLicensed New Jersey LPN with experience or strong interest in correctional healthcareComfortable working onsite within a secure correctional facilityDetail-oriented, dependable, and patient-focusedAble to work 35 hours per week consistently
