Nursing Position
In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care for residents as well as general consultation regarding health-related concerns within the community.
Essential functions, key duties, and responsibilities include:
- Directing the daily activities of the certified nursing assistants and resident care associates in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations and established company policies and procedures.
- Following the nursing model to promote holistic care for the residents.
- Ensuring that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assigned.
- Participating in the admission, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
- Assessing for changes in residents' status, notifying the physician and resident's family or representative and documenting accordingly.
- Transcribing physician orders to medical record and carrying out orders as written.
- Preparing and administering medications as per physicians' orders and observing for adverse effects as indicated.
- Performing wound treatments per physicians' orders, observing for changes and documenting accordingly as indicated.
- Scheduling follow up appointments for residents and transportation needs as indicated.
- Providing nursing leadership to nursing personnel assigned to the unit.
- Providing direct care skills such as colostomy changes, tube feedings, wound care, suctioning, IV administration, etc. in accordance with current policies and procedures.
- Performing rounds to ensure resident needs are being met and personnel are performing their assigned duties.
- Collaborating with other members of the interdisciplinary team as needed to ensure residents' needs are holistically met.
- Reporting any incidents or unusual occurrences to the community's leadership team.
- Ensuring that there is adequate stock of medications, supplies, equipment and notifying appropriate personnel of needs.
- Initiating, reviewing and updating care plans as required.
- Participating in the survey process when inspection surveys arise.
- May participate in QAPI activities as needed or assigned.
- Ensuring that infection control principles are followed and helping correct deficiencies in practice as noted.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Complying with all policies and procedures and any updates.
Position requirements include:
Education: A nursing degree from an accredited college or university
Licenses/Certifications: Current unrestricted license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in practicing state
Experience: 1+ years of nursing experience preferred
