Position: Licensed Practical Nurse - Float Position Type: Full-Time Location: Franklin High School Reports to: Building Principal Salary: As per FEA ESP Contract This position qualifies for town benefits, including Health Insurance General Description: The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse- Float to work at Franklin High School. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
    Under the supervision and consultation of the School Nurse the LPN will:
  • Provide medical monitoring for students during van transit to and from school.
  • Accompany students to community vocational sites and administer medications as needed.
  • Provide medical monitoring for students participating in after-school clubs and extracurricular activities.
  • Assist with administering first aid to children
  • Administer medication in accordance with school policy
  • Perform specific medical procedures as prescribed and outlined in the student's health care plan
  • Confer with supervisor, site administrator, and the school nurse regarding student needs, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain records
  • Participate in educational programs designed to increase knowledge and enhance the quality of practical nursing care in the school setting
  • Upholds professional standards, the Massachusetts Nursing Practice Act and other state and local statutes and regulations applicable to school nursing practice; and adheres to district policies
  • Keeps current with any changes to applicable nursing practices and standards
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the School Principal or School Nurse
Qualifications:
  • Hold a valid LPN License in the State of Massachusetts
  • Experience working with children and youth is preferred
  • Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).
