Job Responsibilities
- Design Individualized Therapy Plans: Assess patient requirements and formulate targeted therapy strategies to assist in achieving their functional milestones.
- Implement Therapeutic Techniques: Apply evidence-based interventions to improve patients' motor skills, cognitive abilities, and everyday activities.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Engage with OTs, PTs, STs, physicians, and nurses to ensure unified, comprehensive patient care.
- Educate Patients and Families: Provide instruction on therapy methods for ongoing support and progress in the home environment.
- Track and Adapt Patient Progress: Monitor clinical results and modify treatments as necessary to keep patients on their path to recovery.
Education Requirements
- A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
- Ongoing education or certifications beyond the basics are encouraged and supported.
Licenses and Certifications
- Current, active Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) license
- NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification is mandatory.
