Journeyman Electricians - Fairfax, IA

Join a leading team on a large-scale data center project with competitive pay, per diem, and long-term opportunities.

Pay Rate:

• $57/hr with active Iowa Journeyman License
• $45/hr while awaiting Iowa reciprocation approval

Licensing Requirements:

MUST have JOURNEYMAN LICENSE from IOWA or the following states.

• Iowa Journeyman License preferred
• Reciprocal licenses accepted from: AK, AR, CO, MN, MT, NE, NH, ND, OK, SD, TX, WI, and WY
• Candidates within 3 months of holding their Journeyman license for one year are encouraged to apply
• Must apply for Iowa reciprocation as soon as eligible

Per Diem:

• Full weekly per diem earned when all scheduled shifts are worked
• If shifts are missed, per diem is paid only for days worked

Schedule:

• Typically 12-hour shifts Monday-Friday
• 8-hour shift on Saturday
• No Sundays
• Candidates can typically complete orientation and receive badges the same day
• Overtime available

Job Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, commission, and maintain electrical systems
• Perform first-time energization, switching, AutoLOTO, load bank connections/removals, and commissioning support
• Read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical plans
• Install conduit, cable tray systems, and electrical devices
• Follow MOPs, safety procedures, and project documentation requirements
• Support apprentices and coordinate with project leadership
• Conduct testing, diagnostics, and service work

Qualifications

• Active Journeyman Electrician License
• Minimum 5+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience
• Successful completion of an apprenticeship program
• Experience with data centers, switchgear, transfer schemes, controllers, and process controls preferred
• Strong blueprint and schematic reading skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be 18+ years old
• Must pass all pre-employment screenings

• 10-Panel Drug Screen
• 7-Year Background Check
• Journeyman Electrician License
