Taylorville Public Library’s Board of Trustees is seeking a new Library Director who has the ability to work in concert with the board, the library staff, the Taylorville City Council, patrons, and local organizations to provide quality services and programs for the community. Responsibilities include planning, directing, and supervising all aspects of library services, facilities, and activities. The Director will be responsible for budgeting and financial management, personnel administration, facilities management, and development. The Director will possess strong technology skills, knowledge of library law, and a vision of the role of libraries in the 21st century. The Director must be a strong, highly professional leader willing to build relationships within the community. A competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000 and a compensation package consisting of health insurance, paid leave and sick days is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. This position does not require residency within the city of Taylorville.
Position Requirements
Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited school or comparable. At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a library is preferred.
