Leveraged Finance Associate Attorney (Fund Finance & Private Credit)Location: Los Angeles or New YorkPosition Type: AssociateDirect Counsel is seeking a mid-to-senior level Leveraged Finance Associate to join a global AmLaw 100 firm. This role sits within a highly regarded finance group, with a particular focus on fund finance and private credit transactions. The team represents a sophisticated client base, including lead arrangers, direct lenders, subscription line lenders, NAV lenders, as well as borrowers and corporate issuers.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on a range of complex finance transactions, including fund finance, private credit, leveraged finance, and related structured finance mattersDraft, review, and negotiate credit agreements, commitment papers, and ancillary loan documentationManage transactions from inception through closing, including due diligence, structuring, and executionCollaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop strategic, business-oriented solutionsConduct legal research and provide analytical support on transactional mattersMaintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and high-quality work productQualificationsMinimum 4+ years of relevant experience in leveraged finance, fund finance, private credit, debt capital markets, and/or structured financeExperience at an AmLaw 100 firm strongly preferredJD from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the applicable jurisdictionStrong drafting, analytical, and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentKey Skills & AttributesStrong business judgment and attention to detailAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyClient-focused mindset with a high level of professionalismEffective problem-solving and critical thinking skillsCompensation & BenefitsSalary range: $310,000 – $390,000, depending on experience and qualificationsComprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)Work EnvironmentHybrid schedule with regular in-office presence and flexibility for remote workCollaborative and fast-paced team environment with opportunities for professional growth and advancementIf you're a finance associate looking to work on sophisticated transactions with top-tier clients in a dynamic and supportive environment, this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career.
