Internal Temporary Contract Surgical Technologist Program – 6-month assignment without benefits. Compensation: $38 per hour. Call pay: $63 per weekday, $92 on weekend. Scheduling will be based on unit needs. Overtime (time over 40 per week) is allowed at the discretion of the Director and paid at 1½. No paid time off accrual; contract employees may use 3 days paid time per contract. Requested time off must be disclosed at interview or prior to signing and must adhere to hospital policies. Additional time off must be approved and will be unpaid. Introductory attendance policy: 2 occurrences – written warning; 3 occurrences – termination of contract. Contract surgical technologists are scheduled after permanent employees. They are encouraged to apply for permanent positions if they remain in good standing during the contract. Minimum qualifications: at least 2 years of appropriate training. Not eligible for shift differential. Must satisfactorily pass all employee health onboarding components, background check, and drug test. Must hold active Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support certifications, and may need additional certifications based on assigned area of work. Current Lenoir employees are not eligible unless they have been separated for at least 6 months. The original position is not guaranteed if permanent employment is severed. If rehired, new start and seniority dates apply.
