Job Summary
Legal Processing Support position in the Pima County Attorney's Office. Classified, Grade 2, Careful selection based on experience and qualifications.
Pay
Hourly range: $17.37 - $20.41 (reference). Final offer will consider experience, education, and internal equity.
Responsibilities
- Answer procedural questions from the public and staff regarding specialized documents and policies.
- Research relevant information and prepare confidential legal documents.
- Maintain and update records, file folders, logs, and status records; purge as required.
- Index, classify, code, and file records, reports, and documents.
- Search computer databases for criminal histories, asset information, and employment details using restricted resources.
- Interview clients to obtain general information for case records.
- Retrieve and provide case disposition information, determining further action when needed.
- Create and maintain new records and client files; manage data input and retrieval via computer systems.
- Develop and manage spreadsheets and databases.
- Schedule and arrange meetings, conferences, interviews, appointments, and travel.
- Prepare routine legal documents such as complaints, warrants, and depositions and handle routine correspondence.
- Review case files for completeness and contact relevant parties for missing documents.
- Assemble daily court calendars, prioritize trials or hearings, and relay information to judges and concerned parties.
- Receive payments, issue receipts, and verify daily cash intake against receipts.
- Coordinate processing actions with other units, departments, or outside agencies and assist clients in completing service processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Six (6) months of legal clerical experience OR one (1) year of general clerical experience.
- Relevant education and experience documented in the application.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Arizona Driver License required at time of application and appointment.
- Successful candidate will undergo a 39‑month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review.
- Background checks covering work history, education, and criminal conviction history.
- Physical: frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 20 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Working conditions: professional office setting, frequent computer use, stationary periods, occasional travel.
