Legal Operations Manager
Reports to: General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Secretary
Work Location: Kymera International - RTP, Corp
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary
The Legal Operations Manager reports to the General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Secretary and supports the legal and compliance department’s daily operations. This role drives efficiency and risk management through implementation of legal technology, process improvement, budget oversight, workflow automation, KPI tracking, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, strong communication and organizational skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee department priorities, ensure alignment with the strategic goals set by the Executive Leadership Team and the legal and compliance team, and adjust as business needs evolve.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for outside counsel and legal vendors, fostering strong partnerships and ensuring alignment on performance expectations and deliverables.
- Monitor outside counsel performance, invoices, budgets and engagement metrics to ensure cost effective and high-quality legal service delivery.
- Collaborate with Finance to manage departmental budgets, track spend, and produce clear, actionable financial reports for leadership.
- Support global compliance efforts under the direction of the Director of Global Compliance, including coordinating training, distributing compliance materials, assisting investigations, and supporting audits.
- Monitor compliance program activities and related documentation to support consistent execution, issue tracking, and timely follow-up on compliance obligations.
- Maintain the intellectual property portfolio, including performance of initial trademark searches and collection of specimens required for renewals.
- Assist with due diligence activities for M&A transactions.
- Lead the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of legal and compliance departmenttechnology systems to ensure effective document management, centralized resources, and easy accessibility for the legal and compliance team and internal stakeholders.
- Champion cross-departmental collaboration to ensure the legal tech stack aligns with broader enterprise systems and supports company-wide initiatives.
- Identify and implement workflow automation and process improvements to improve legal service delivery, reduce manual tasks, align resources to high-value work, and increase team productivity.
- Implement self-service tools, FAQs, and other scalable solutions to empower internal clients, improve response times, and reduce dependency on legal staff for routine inquiries.
- Support risk management activities by maintaining insurance policy records, coordinating renewal data, and tracking potential claims through resolution.
- Design SOPs to ensure timely notice of potential insurance claims and consistent tracking through resolution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum 7 years’ experience supporting corporate legal departments, legal operations, compliance operations, contract management or related business operations functions.
- Demonstrated success in leading process improvements, managing vendor relationships, and driving operational efficiency within legal or corporate environments.
- Experience implementing and optimizing legal technology platforms, with a focus on adoption and measurable impact.
- Ability to occasionally travel both domestically or internationally as required (estimated 10 percent).

- Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to deliver initiatives on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic goals.
- Expertise in legal technology platforms.
- Proficiency using virtual data rooms to upload and organize documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and via telephone.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
- The work environment is generally office based with limited manufacturing plant exposure. Hybrid or Remote work schedule for right candidate.
